Archivist Safety Matches: Cowboy Perfect Match

There’s a playful nostalgia to this square matchbox—rooted in classic Western imagery but delivered with a lighter, almost tongue-in-cheek touch. The scene of a cowboy and cowgirl beneath a blazing sun feels familiar, yet the “Perfect Match, Love love, love.” text shifts it into something more personal, less cinematic and more sentimental. It balances romance and humour without leaning too far into either.

The format stays deliberately simple. A compact box, easy to reach for, designed to live out in the open rather than tucked away. Inside, 125 matchsticks keep it grounded in everyday use—lighting candles, setting a mood, or just punctuating a moment. It’s a small object with a bit of narrative to it, equal parts function and character.
